Robs Column
Prediction Time
Many of you have personally asked me, "Rob who is going to win this election?". Well, don't let your heart be troubled, someone will win. I'm going to go out on a limb here and make some of my own predictions. Why you ask, because the election is in two days, I know your wondering, and hey I just love being proved wrong, gluten for punishment, what can I say. If you've been locked in your closet for some time and just realized the door knob goes to the right to open I will inform you. Currently, the Republicans have the seats (numbers) in the Senate and the House of Representatives for the majority. That's currently, what will happen Tuesday November, 7th 2006 is anybody's guess? I'm going to provide you with the current poll percentages and make my own prediction, lets see what happens this week. Keep in mind, the Democrats have been saying for the past month that they will take over the majority in the House and the Senate.
The Senate Election
| State | Democrat and % | Republican and % | My Prediction |
| Arizona | Jim Pederson 41% | Jon Kyl 49% | Republican takes seat |
| California | Dianne Feinstein 60% | Dick Mountjoy 31% | Democrat takes seat |
| Connecticut | Ned Lamont 38% | Alan Schlesinger 9% | Neither, Joe Lieberman wins (a independent) |
| Florida | Bill Nelson 59% | Katherine Harris 36% | Democrat takes seat |
| Maryland | Ben Cardin 47% | Michael Steele 44% | Republican takes seat |
| Michigan | Debbie Stabenow 53% | Mike Bouchard 37% | Democrat takes seat |
| Missouri | Claire McCaskill 49% | Jim Talent 45% | Republican takes seat |
| Minnesota | Amy Klobuchar 54% | Mark Kennedy 40% | Democrat takes seat |
| Montana | Jon Tester 50% | Conrad Burns 41% | Republican takes seat |
| New Jersey | Bob Menendez 50% | Tom Kean, Jr. 40% | Democrat takes seat |
| Ohio | Sherrod Brown 50% | Mike DeWine 44% | Republican takes seat |
| Pennsylvania | Bob Casey 52% | Rick Santorum 39% | Democrat takes seat |
| Rhode Island | Sheldon Whitehouse 48% | Lincoln Chafee 45% | Republican takes seat |
| Tennessee | Harold Ford 47% | Bob Corker 51% | Republican takes seat |
| Utah | Pete Ashdown 31% | Orrin Hatch 61% | Republican takes seat |
| Virginia | Jim Webb 46% | George Allen 45% | Republican takes seat |
| Washington | Maria Cantwell 54% | Mike McGavick 38% | Democrat takes seat |
The Senate really comes down to three states, Virginia, Missouri, and Tennessee, whoever wins 2 out of 3 wins the Senate. I know, I have all the states going to Republicans, what can I say, I think the Republicans will win. We will see. Note, I have Conrad Burns winning in Montana as well as Lincoln Chafee in Rhode Island and Mike DeWine in Ohio even though they are underdogs. Told you I was going out on a limb here. So if your keeping score I say the Republicans win the Senate by 53 Republicans, 47 Democrats 1 Independent.
The House Election
Well I am currently only supporting one Congressman for the House, click here to see. This is the tough one, and since there is so many running in this election I'm not going to break it down one by one. I will say if you haven't voted yet, go read Darbys Soapbox this week. For my House prediction I will say the Republicans retain the House by a slim margin. My forecast is this 219 Republicans, 214 Democrats, and 2 Independents.
Why you ask I got Republicans winning? For me and many others, it comes down to one issue. The War on Terror, who is going to defend this nation and take an offensive role instead of a defensive posture against Islam. I see the Republicans being more up to the job of going on a all out offense against Islam and its piece of shit worshipers than I do the appeasing, flip-flop, cuddling Democrats. If the Democrats weren't so far-left liberal and so wrapped up on what our President was doing at this moment in time and come up with a strategic plan of there own, I may swing some votes there way. As I said before, our children deserve better and the truth, and the Democrats won't give us either. I'm not telling you how to vote, just the way I see it, hopefully you will see it as well.
